Option not to "auto-load" Resources (Vehicles/Equipment)

Is there a way to have an option to  disable auto-loading of existing Resources (Vehicles/Equipment)?  When there are a lot of Resources already input into Crew Manager, any time our users attempt to create/add a vehicle or equipment - it basically freezes the entire application as it tries to auto-load all of the existing Resources.  And each time it refreshes, it bogs everything down.  For our users in field offices that may not have fast internet access, this becomes a major issue when they are working with the Resources.
